The Acceptance of Faults, Flaws and of Letting Go

I’m sorry to keep you still here

I’m sorry if I keep doing things that makes you sad

I’m sorry for making you angry

I’m sorry for making you cry.

I’m sorry for misunderstanding you

I’m sorry for underestimating you

I’m sorry for the times I made you feel small

I’m sorry for making you feel less about yourself.

I’m sorry for saying those mean words

I’m sorry for all the broken promises

I’m sorry for the moments that I had missed

I’m sorry for not being good enough for you.

I’m sorry for letting you go

I’m sorry for not being better

I’m sorry for the mixed signals

I’m sorry to keep you waiting.

I’m sorry for not being straight for what I feel

I’m sorry to still hold you in my arms

I’m sorry for holding your heart captive

I’m sorry for gripping you too tight.

I’m sorry for being possessive

I’m sorry for not knowing my boundaries

I’m sorry for always being jealous

I’m sorry for not being nice.

I’m sorry for not reciprocating your feelings

I’m sorry to keep you on hold

I’m sorry for taking it too long

I’m sorry for until now you are still waiting.

I’m sorry for not knowing

I’m sorry for not doing anything in return

I’m sorry for everything I had done wrong.

I’m sorry…

I’m sorry…

There are many more things, words, actions, thoughts that I’m sorry about

But telling them one by one will take not hours, not days, not weeks

But months and months to years that we won’t be able to realize that time passed

And only to see that we are still in each other’s company

Holding, pinning each other down..

Not growing..

Not leaving..

Not letting each other go

So, let the other things to be sorry about be forgotten

For we should live our life apart and happy

Away from each other’s hands and grips

Away from each other’s sight.

This letter is to ask for your forgiveness

And for me to bid my farewell.

  1. There is a certain beauty in honesty, and you’ve captured quite a heart-wrenching story in your poetry here. I honestly think that this is a beautiful poem, I’ve followed because I can’t wait to read more of your work!
